Dr Renard is one of ASEAN’s most respected leaders in climate and sustainability. He serves as President of the Malaysia Carbon Market Association (MCMA) and Climate Change Adviser to the Centre for Governance and Political Studies (CENT GPS), championing climate action and market integrity across the region.
Internationally, he is a member of the World Economic Forum Expert Network, Co Lead for the Global Young Academy Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Group, and previously co chaired the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative Commitment on Climate Action. He has also contributed to frameworks under the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board and the Global Basel Infrastructure Council, helping shape ESG policy and low carbon development for emerging economies.
For his contributions, Dr Renard has been recognised as one of Asia Society’s 21 Young Leaders, a World Cities Summit Young Leader, and one of Malaysia’s Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians for Environmental Leadership.
